India vs Sri Lanka Live Score: Live Cricket Score of India vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Day 1

India skipper Virat Kohli would not like to make too many changes in the playing eleven after winning the first Test match convincingly against Sri Lanka. KL Rahul is all set to make a comeback in the playing eleven in place of Abhinav Mukund while the rest of the team is likely to remain the same. Cheteshwar Pujara will be playing his 50th Test match and India would look to gain the early advantage on the first day of the second Test match with the hosts really struggling to get their team combination right. For India, both the new ball bowlers had fared well in the last Test and with the spinners coming to the party in the second innings of the Galle Test, the visitors have pretty much all bases covered.

Chris Gayle is Back, Named in West Indies Against India in T20

Kingston:
Big-hitting batsman Chris Gayle has been recalled to the West Indies squad for the lone Twenty20 International against India on Sunday. Gayle, who is West Indies' most successful batsman in the T20 format with 1519 runs at an average of 35.32, replaced Lendl Simmons, who had struggled for runs in the T20 series against Afghanistan.

It will be Gayle's first T20 match at his home ground, Sabina Park. The marauding batsman, who has two T20 centuries, last played an international match for the West Indies in the 2016 World T20 final against England at Eden Gardens.

All-rounder Jason Holder, who leads the side in Tests and ODIs, has been rested again and the side will be led by Carlos Brathwaite. "We welcome Chris back to the T20 squad. He is the most prolific batsman in this format and will add value to our team at the top of the order," Courtney Browne, Cricket West Indies' chairman of selectors, said.

"He will get the chance to play on his home ground and against a top-quality Indian team," Browne added.

The hosts are trailing 1-2 in a five-match ODI series with India and will strive to equal the rubber by winning the final match.

West Indies T20 squad: Carlos Brathwaite (C), Samuel Badree, Ronsford Beaton, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Jason Mohammed, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Rovman Powell, Marlon Samuels, Jerome Taylor, Chadwick Walton and Kesrick Williams.

West Indies squad For last 3 ODI Kyle Hope, Ambris earn maiden ODI call-ups

Kyle Hope and Sunil Ambris have earned call-ups to West Indies' one-day international squad for the final three ODIs of their ongoing home series against India. The duo came in at the expense of Jonathan Carter and Kesrick Williams in Cricket West Indies' 13-man squad named on Tuesday.

Hope, the 28-year old top-order batsman and brother of incumbent national wicketkeeper Shai, captains Trinidad & Tobago in domestic cricket, while Ambris, a 24-year old wicketkeeper-batsman, plays for Windward Islands. Both players are uncapped at the international level.

Hope opened the batting for West Indies A on the one-day leg of their tour of Sri Lanka last year, and turned in good performances with a century and an 81 in three matches. He was also one of the stars of T&T's campaign in the WICB Professional Cricket League Regional 4 Day Tournament (PCL) in 2016-17, finishing second only to Yannic Cariah on the tournament run charts.

Ambris was the seventh-best run-scorer in that tournament with 608 runs at 43.42. That included a double-century against Leeward Islands, when he cracked a 256-ball 231, with the help of 27 fours and five sixes, to set up Windward Islands' seven-wicket win.

"Sunil Ambris and Kyle Hope are two very promising young batsmen who have been selected on the basis of strong performances in our competitions," Courtney Browne, Cricket West Indies' chairman of selectors, said. "Kyle opened on our last A team one-day tour to Sri Lanka and had some very good performances. In addition, he also had a good showing opening the batting for the Trinidad & Tobago Red Force franchise in this year's PCL competition.

"Sunil did well in our Regional Super50 One-Day tournament and also had a good showing in this year's PCL first-class tournament for Windward Islands Volcanoes, and therefore will fit within our middle order. They will be up against a good Indian team and they have an opportunity to show their skills and contribute to a stronger team performance."

The third ODI takes place on Friday in Antigua, which will also host the fourth game, before the teams head to Kingston for the fifth and final match and a one-off T20 International. India lead the one-day series 1-0, having picked up a 105-run win in Port of Spain after the first match ended in a washout.

India vs England, Live cricket score ICC Women's World Cup 2017

India is expected to face a tough task when they take on hosts England on the opening day of the ICC Women's World Cup cricket tournament on Saturday.
India will bank on the experience of Mithali Raj, the world's second highest-capped batter behind Charlotte Edwards of England with 177 women's ODIs to her name.
The first stage of the tournament will see the eight contenders battle it out in a round-robin format where every team plays each other once.
Mithali has an impressive record at the World Cup with an average of 60.83 and the highest score of 103 not out which she registered against Pakistan at the previous edition in 2013.
The 34-year-old middle-order batter will aim to continue her fine record in the game's showpiece tournament as seven-time semi-finalists India aims to reach the final for the first time.
Appearing in her fifth World Cup, Mithali has a total of 22 outings so far and her experience will prove to be valuable for the Indians.
"Our first target will be to reach the semi-finals, but for that, you need to be able to play good cricket throughout the tournament and have good momentum," Mithali said in a statement.
Harmanpreet, playing her third World Cup, is a toast of world cricket with her swashbuckling style and part-time off-spin. She has the distinction of notching up 107 runs against England in 2013— the highest score by an Indian in a World Cup.
In the bowling department, India will depend mainly on veteran speedster Jhulan Goswami, who is playing her fourth World Cup.
Jhulan, the highest wicket-taker in the world in limited-overs formats, will be ably supported by left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht who is currently ranked at the sixth position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings.
The Indians are in good form, having thrashed Sri Lanka by 109 runs in their warm-up match. They are, however, expected to face a tough challenge from England.
The English have won six matches of the overall nine encounters between the two teams since India debuted in the second edition of the World Cup in 1978.
The Indian girls registered their first win against England in the third encounter between the two sides at the 1982 World Cup in New Zealand.
England has been impressive whenever they have hosted the ICC Women's World Cup, winning the competition on both the previous occasions in 1973 and 1993. They won their third title at the 2009 edition in Sydney.
The hosts, led by skipper Heather Knight, will be hoping that playing at home proves to be lucky once again as they bid for a fourth crown.
"It's going to be a brilliant tournament. The support we have had from the tournament, I think it's going to be the most visible and supported Women's World Cup we've had," Heather said in a statement.

India vs West Indies 2017 Live Cricket Score

Team India is all set to shrug off the disappointment of losing the Champions Trophy final and begin afresh as they gear up to take on West Indies in the first of the five-match ODI series.

Virat Kohli and his team sweat it out in the middle at the Queen's Park Oval ahead of the opening fixture. Kohli had said in the pre-match press conference on Thursday that the team will look to do the basics and play their 'boring' brand of cricket in order to maintain consistency.

The likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan were seen practicing in the nets ahead of the match. Rahane will look to make the most of this opportunity as regular opener Rohit Sharma has been rested for the tour. Kohli made it clear that it will be Rahane who will open in all the five matches alongside Shikhar Dhawan.

India is expected to whitewash the Windies, who have a cumulative squad experience of 213 matches between the 13 players. Skipper Jason Holder is the highest capped player in the side, having played 58 matches.

Squads:

India: Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli(c), Yuvraj Singh, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni(w), Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, Kuldeep Yadav, Dinesh Karthik

West Indies: Evin Lewis, Kieran Powell, Shai Hope(w), Kesrick Williams, Jason Mohammed, Jonathan Carter, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder(c), Ashley Nurse, Alzarri Joseph, Devendra Bishoo, Roston Chase, Miguel Cummins

Cricket News India vs Pakistan

Pakistan has won the Champions Trophy cricket final after beating their arch-rivals India by 180 runs at the Oval ground in Britain's capital, London.
Title-holders India, set 339 to win, collapsed after Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir removed the top three batsmen - Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and captain Virat Kohli. They were eventually dismissed for 158, with 19.3 overs to spare.
Al Jazeera’s Lee Wellings, reporting from South London, said that only a few people saw this result coming.
"This is absolutely remarkable. Pakistan fans cannot believe the journey their team has taken," he said.
"Pakistan is celebrating their biggest victory against their archrival."
Amir finished with three for 16 in six overs and Hasan Ali, who kick-started Pakistan's revival in their group win over top-ranked South Africa, ended the match when he had Jasprit Bumrah caught by the gleeful captain and wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed.
Left-arm fast bowler Amir, whose career was almost ended on the other side of London's River Thames by a ban and jail term he received for his part in a spot-fixing scam during a 2010 Test against England at Lord's, finished with three for 16.
He dismissed Rohit Sharma (nought), India captain Virat Kohli (five) and Shikhar Dhawan (21) in a stunning new-ball spell.
Earlier, Pakistan made 338 for four after losing the toss with opener Fakhar Zaman's 114 his maiden one-day international hundred in just his fourth match at this level.
India had thrashed Pakistani side by 124 runs in their tournament opener at Edgbaston on June 4.

Live Cricket Score India vs Pakistan

Mumbai:- India have scored 1098 runs at a per-batsman average of 91.50 in the tournament, which makes them the best batting outfit on display. Now what do you have to say Pratik? Also, three of India's top five batters averages more than 43 against Pakistan. I think Pakistan bowlers are in for some serious stick today.

India are favourites to retain the Champions Trophy on Sunday but they would probably have preferred to face different opponents than arch-rivals Pakistan in what is sure to be a highly-charged final.

The neighbouring countries have moved on from years of political conflicts but emotions will run high as millions of supporters around the world watch the first major cricket final between the teams since the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup.

TEAMS:

India Vs Pakistan, Champions Trophy 2017 Final Live Cricket

India's remarkable consistency will be up against Pakistan's legendary volatility when the fierce rivals clash in what is expected to be an exciting finale to the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday. The often tense political relations between the neighboring nations add color to the bitter yet intense rivalry, which has nowadays been confined only to global events due to the Indian government's refusal to allow bilateral contests. Defending champions India had got the better of the rivals in the league stage of the ongoing tournament. And captain Virat Kohli has already declared that nothing extra is needed to get the same result despite the turnaround by Sarfraz Ahmed's men since then. It is nonetheless a battle of attrition, where one needs to hold the nerve till the very end.

What's the big deal about this final?
The India-Pakistan cricket rivalry is one of the most intense in all of sport. There is a history of conflict between the two countries, and the cricket rivalry, which stems from the political one, has its own eventful past. With cricket being the most popular sport in both nations, when India and Pakistan play each other in important games, the television audience is often close to one billion - 988 million viewers were estimated to have watched their clash in the 2011 World Cup semi-final.

So what, where, and when is it?
India and Pakistan will meet in the final of the Champions Trophy, a major global cricket tournament, on Sunday, June 18. The match is being played at The Oval cricket ground in London and will begin at 10:30 local time (9:30 GMT, 15:00 Indian Standard Time and 15:30 Pakistan Standard Time).

Is this a rare event? This is the first major final between India and Pakistan since 2007, when India beat Pakistan in the World T20 tournament. The hype around this game is also magnified by a paucity of matches between the two teams in the past 10 years, a result of political tensions.

What is the origin of the India-Pakistan cricket rivalry?
Before 1947, the regions now known as India and Pakistan were both part of British India. When British rule in India ended, two separate countries - India and Pakistan - were created principally along religious lines, and many people were killed as millions moved home in an attempt to live in the country where they would be part of the religious majority. Since then, India and Pakistan have fought four official wars and have been involved in other conflicts.

So the cricket rivalry is an extension of the political conflict?
While political tension was certainly the origin of the India-Pakistan cricket rivalry, it has, over the years, forged a history of its own. There have been several periods during which the teams have been evenly matched, leading to hard-fought matches, close series and exciting moments.

What is the attitude of the fans towards each other?
While there are India and Pakistan fans who feel animosity towards the other team, there are many who have tremendous respect for the opposition. This is evidenced by the popularity of several Pakistan cricketers in India, and Indian cricketers in Pakistan. Some might even say that at times cricket has helped people from both countries transcend the political climate, communicate with each other, and appreciate the many cultural similarities they share. Cricket tournaments have sometimes been thought of as part of the attempts by the countries to make peace with each other.

Part of the history of this rivalry are many tales of people treating those coming from across the border for a cricket series with warmth and hospitality, incidents of fans applauding opposition players at stadiums and of players making respectful gestures to their rivals. Recently, for example, when the famous Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi retired, the entire India team signed a T-shirt and sent it to him as a gift

Sri Lanka vs Pakistan, Highlights, ICC Champions Trophy News

Pakistan got off to a great start in the run chase as Fakhar Zaman (50) came out all guns blazing and he along with Azhar Ali (34) added 74 runs for the first wicket. But the former World Champions lost wickets at regular intervals in the middle overs that got Sri Lanka right back in the match. Just when the match was swinging towards Sri Lanka, Sarfraz Ahmed (61*) played a captain's knock to help Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 3 wickets. Sri Lanka's fielding disintegrated in the last 45 minutes as they dropped a couple of chances and Pakistan rode on their luck to get home after being reduced to 162 for 7 at one stage. For Sri Lanka Nuwan Pradeep was the pick of the bowlers, returning with figures of 3 for 60 in his 10 overs. Earlier, Pakistan bundled out Sri Lanka for 236 with Junaid Khan and Hasan Ali picking up three wickets apiece.

Pakistan have little more than 36 hours before taking the field again in Cardiff for their Champions Trophy semi-final against England, but will find time to address concerns about their middle order despite the joy of overcoming Sri Lanka to progress to the knockout stage.

Fakhar Zaman's explosive entrance to the one-day side, with innings of 31 off 23 balls against South Africa followed by his 35-ball 50 against Sri Lanka, has helped overcome the sluggish starts which have plagued their batting, but there were a series of loose dismissals in the chase which left them needing a rescue mission of dramatic proportions from captain Sarfraz Ahmed and Mohammad Amir in an unbroken stand of 75 in 15 overs.

"If you look at the game we started well but after Fakhar Zaman got out we lost the momentum and then most of our dismissals were soft which definitely is an area of concern for us," Sarfraz said. "We will sit tomorrow and talk about this and hopefully we will recover from this.

"After the way we started we could have finished this game with six or seven wickets in hand but those dismissals really dented us. We should have won by a good margin but a win is a win. Yes, we need to sit and talk about it and realise that if we a settled that we should take the game to the end rather than leaving it for the upcoming batsmen."

On his own innings, an unbeaten 61 off 79 balls, he admitted things went his way especially with the first dropped catch by Thisara Perera but was delighted to see the chase through. "I played the shot in the air, I just said, ooh...as a captain, it's very important innings for me. After this innings, I'm really boosted."

Before the tournament, Sarfraz spoke about how the team's No. 8 ODI ranking meant there were no expectations on them - which looked justified after the woeful performance against India, who they have a chance of meeting again in the final - but now they have a semi-final berth he sounded a little more bullish.

"Indeed it was very important for us as a team. Obviously nobody was rating us and they were writing us off, but once again I give all the credit to the team management for boosting us after the India game, especially our bowlers. The way Junaid [Khan] and Amir bowled was a turning point. I hope we can carry the momentum ahead and take a lot of confidence."

Sarfraz also promised his side would play "positive" cricket against England, the side they conceded the world record ODI total of 444 for 3 against at Trent Bridge last year. That one-day series ended in a 4-1 drubbing but the lone Pakistan victory did come in Cardiff as they chased down 303 in which Sarfraz made 90.

"We chased down 300-plus runs and that is a good memory," he said. "We have to play positive cricket as England have been playing positive cricket in the last two years. Obviously we have to play hard and we will try to replicate our last year performance to win them again in Cardiff. If you're playing a world class team you play more positive cricket. So will definitely do that against England."

England vs Australia: As It Happened in Champions Trophy 2017

In the gloom of Edgbaston, with England nearly home, the rain about to come, and their million-dollar bowler clutching his hamstring, Glenn Maxwell dropped a catch that he misread so badly it almost hit him. Even when it didn't rain on Australia's chances, their cricket was underwhelming.

Australia has played only one completed match - and even that was incomplete. They were poor in their first match, and much better in the second. By the end of those two washouts, their tally of two points was exactly what they deserved. If you include their two warm-ups, they'd played in four games in England, and finished just this one.

Essentially Australia's only game of this entire tournament was a knockout game against the only unbeaten team, the favourites, the home team, and they came into it with no proper preparation. Most casual Australian cricket fans don't even know what the Champions Trophy is, what it means, or how often Australia has won it. Plus, it's footy season, and this is hardly the Ashes. Besides, the Australian players haven't had to face anything as hostile on the field as they have from their own board.

But even though Cricket Australia's executives might have played even more reckless shots than their top order, this Australian team never looked right from the moment it took the field in this tournament.

The problem started at No.4. Moises Henriques has never made more than 18 in an ODI. His top score for Australia is 81 not out in Tests. He averages 31 in List A cricket. He made two List A fifties in his first nine seasons of cricket. He's only ever made limited-overs hundreds in domestic cricket. He's 30. Ten Australian players have scored over 4000 runs in ODI cricket batting at No.4: Michael Clarke, Damien Martyn, Allan Border, Michael Bevan, Mike Hussey, Steve Waugh and Greg Chappell.

Henriques has good recent form in the IPL, Big Bash and one-day cup, but at No. 4, in an ICC tournament, it was two or three places too high.

It is not Henriques' fault he is batting at 4: he is there because of a hole in the centre of this team. Australia is a batsman short and a bowler short. And to elongate the batting and rush through the fifth bowler's overs quicker, Henriques has been brought in to fill this gap. The middle overs in this tournament are when bowling sides try and take wickets - England smashed through theirs with wrist spin and pace to make sure Australia had nothing left with which to strike at the death. But in the 13th to 15th of a must-win game, Australia was bowling Moises Henriques and Travis Head when they needed wickets with no catchers, no hope of a plan other than '"let's hope Ben Stokes does something idiotic".

Would Australia have won the game with Marcus Stoinis instead of Henriques, or even Chris Lynn for Henriques, with Head and Maxwell combining for ten overs? Probably not, because even though the chemistry was wrong, the performances weren't much better. Pat Cummins has taken two wickets in 25 overs in this tournament and served up 144 runs - 52 of which came in his first five overs against New Zealand. Today, Stokes took him for 43 runs from 28 balls.

David Warner came into this tournament having made a staggering 23.5% of Australia's runs since the last World Cup: here he failed in two of the three games. Steven Smith makes 16.5% of Australia's runs; he failed in two out of three as well. Starc looked underdone in the first match, bowled beautifully in the washout against Bangladesh, and clutched his hamstring for much of this game.

Australia's gameplan relies on one of their top three batting big, to make up for their shallowness below them. Instead, they lost regular wickets, and then 5 for 15 once the tail was exposed. Australia's gameplan relies on their fast bowlers taking regular wickets. Instead, they started brilliantly but couldn't keep striking. And that was the ballgame.

You could extrapolate this one game and talk about the Ashes, and a psychological dominance that England might feel they now have over Australia, but you probably shouldn't. The Australians might be embarrassed that a team lost to England with six or seven potential Test players, but you know, they played a better-prepared team with better form in a must-win game, and they lost. Their ODI team might need a stronger allrounder, but other than that, it's hard to answer any big questions from two washouts and a loss.

Plus there are bigger questions in Australia that need to be answered right now, what's Schapelle Corby up to, who's winning in the footy and what is the best kind of fusion to win with on a reality TV cooking show?

At 35 for 3, Hazlewood raps Stokes on the pad, the Australians are screaming, and one ball later they are coming off. Smith looks frustrated, but he has all day. He was angry when Henriques got out, he was angry when he got out, and he was angry when his team fielded poorly. The only time he wasn't angry was when the rain came for the last time, then it was a relief.
