India vs Sri Lanka Live Score: Live Cricket Score of India vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test, Day 1

India skipper Virat Kohli would not like to make too many changes in the playing eleven after winning the first Test match convincingly against Sri Lanka. KL Rahul is all set to make a comeback in the playing eleven in place of Abhinav Mukund while the rest of the team is likely to remain the same. Cheteshwar Pujara will be playing his 50th Test match and India would look to gain the early advantage on the first day of the second Test match with the hosts really struggling to get their team combination right. For India, both the new ball bowlers had fared well in the last Test and with the spinners coming to the party in the second innings of the Galle Test, the visitors have pretty much all bases covered.

LIVE CRICKET India v/s Sri Lanka

REACTION WHEN OUT

Shikhar Dhawan fell just ten runs short of his double ton and a record 253-run second wicket stand came to an end just before Tea as India tormented the Sri Lanka attack on the first day of the Galle Test. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are at the crease and a lot of fireworks are expected from the Indian batsmen against a poor bowling attack. Sri Lanka looked stiff with just four bowlers on a benign pitch and Abhinav Mukund's breakthrough early on was their lone moment of happiness till Lunch and now Shikhar Dhawan's wicket just before the second session must have given them a sigh of relief.
Earlier, Hardik Pandya was included in the playing XI and got his Test cap from captain Virat Kohli. Kuldeep Yadav surprisingly has been dropped. While Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav are the two fast bowlers in the team, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja will take care of the spin bowling.

Live Cricket Score of Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe

A rollicking century from Hamilton Masakadza and a rapid finish from the likes of Sikandar Raza and Peter Moor propelled Zimbabwe to a commanding 310 for 8 in Hambantota. The surface offered little for Sri Lanka's spinners or quicks, but nevertheless, the hosts will have to bat extremely well to avoid going 2-1 down in the series. Until last Friday, no score of over 300 had been successfully pursued.

Masakadza was domineering from the outset, striking at better than a run-a-ball through the first Powerplay, while Zimbabwe lost the wicket of Solomon Mire - the series' other centurion - in that period. Tarisai Musakanda, who was playing his first match of the series, then joined Masakadza at the cease. Together, they struck 127 runs from the next 113 balls, and a robust platform was set down. Wanidu Hasaranga and Asela Gunaratne made breakthroughs through the middle overs to give Sri Lanka some sort of control in the game, but enough of Zimbabwe's middle-order batsmen contributed to ensuring the second-wicket pair's work was not squandered. Sean Williams made a sensible 43, and then Raza and Moor hit the twenties apiece to plunder 47 from the last four overs.

Sri Lanka was slightly hampered at the death by the absence of Nuwan Pradeep, who disappeared into the dressing room clutching a leg midway through the innings, but had been too toothless through much of the remainder of the innings. Lakshan Sandakan, who claimed four wickets in the second ODI, was especially wayward here, leaking 73 runs in his 10 overs (though he was also unexpectedly saddled with the job of bowling the 49th over). Malinga was even more expensive, giving away 71 runs in his nine overs. Gunaratne returned the innings' best figures, with 2 for 53 from his full quota.

Masakadza found runs with deft reverse-sweeps and cute paddles when the spinners eventually came on, but it was the power that defined his innings. He crashed his fourth ball of the day through cover point and was ruthless on errors of length from the seam bowlers. Malinga was hit for four through point and then the square leg, in the fifth over, and neither Pradeep or Dushmantha Chameera could survive him unscathed through the Powerplay overs either.

He moved to fifty in the 15th over, having struck eight boundaries - all of them off quicks. The spinners would soon get their turn, however. Wanidu Hasaranga was reverse-swept for four in the 20th over, before being muscled down the ground next ball. Not long after, Sandakan was launched over long-on for six - the second of the innings, coming to a few overs after Musakanda's strike over long-on.

Particularly worrying for Sri Lanka was how comfortable both batsmen appeared. Sri Lanka had raised several lbw appeals through the early overs, and although several were close calls, none of those "not-out" verdicts would have been overturned on appeal. And the appeals themselves largely came against the run of play, rather than as a result of sustained pressure. Musakanda did not advance quite as quickly as Masakadza but still received enough loose deliveries to stroke into a favoured leg side. Masakadza, meanwhile, was, even more, attacking after reaching his half-century, using up only 36 further deliveries to move into triple figures for the fifth time in his career.

Had the partnership prospered for a further five overs, Zimbabwe might have put themselves on track for a score nearer 350 than 300, but as he has done through the series, Gunaratne provided a vital breakthrough - Musakanda holing out to long-on, in an attempt to hit against the wind. Nearly six overs later, Masakadza was also caught in the deep - at square leg - off the bowling of Wanidu Hasaranga. At his departure, the score was 191 for 2 at the start of the 33rd over.

Williams then worked the ball around until the slog overs approached before he was dismissed attempting acute stroke off Gunaratne in the 45th over. At the end of the 46th over, Zimbabwe was still 263 for 6, and Sri Lanka appeared as if they may restrict them to less than 300. Moor walloped successive sixes off Sandakan's final over, however, and then Raza struck two fours and a six off Malinga's last over, which cost a whopping 17. Zimbabwe will be the much happier of the two dressing rooms in the break.

Chris Gayle is Back, Named in West Indies Against India in T20

Kingston:
Big-hitting batsman Chris Gayle has been recalled to the West Indies squad for the lone Twenty20 International against India on Sunday. Gayle, who is West Indies' most successful batsman in the T20 format with 1519 runs at an average of 35.32, replaced Lendl Simmons, who had struggled for runs in the T20 series against Afghanistan.

It will be Gayle's first T20 match at his home ground, Sabina Park. The marauding batsman, who has two T20 centuries, last played an international match for the West Indies in the 2016 World T20 final against England at Eden Gardens.

All-rounder Jason Holder, who leads the side in Tests and ODIs, has been rested again and the side will be led by Carlos Brathwaite. "We welcome Chris back to the T20 squad. He is the most prolific batsman in this format and will add value to our team at the top of the order," Courtney Browne, Cricket West Indies' chairman of selectors, said.

"He will get the chance to play on his home ground and against a top-quality Indian team," Browne added.

The hosts are trailing 1-2 in a five-match ODI series with India and will strive to equal the rubber by winning the final match.

West Indies T20 squad: Carlos Brathwaite (C), Samuel Badree, Ronsford Beaton, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Jason Mohammed, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Rovman Powell, Marlon Samuels, Jerome Taylor, Chadwick Walton and Kesrick Williams.

Mendis, Tharanga fifties propel SL to 316

Another flowing century stand between Kusal Mendis and Danushka Gunathilaka formed the basis of Sri Lanka's commanding 316 for 5 against Zimbabwe in Galle, with Upul Tharanga also contributing an intelligent 79 not out.

The young batsmen had also been impressive during the Champions Trophy - their long partnership against India led to Sri Lanka's only victory in the tournament - and their association in Galle followed a familiar template. There were moments of fortune for Gunathilaka, but otherwise, the two men were quick to punish poor balls, and manipulated the field with precision. Mendis top-scored again, with 86 off 80 deliveries.
Zimbabwe's spinners found some turn, but it was mostly of the slow variety, rather than the fast, ripping spin that is often seen at Galle. The lack of genuine menace in the middle overs saw Sri Lanka move almost unchecked through parts of their innings, and a score in excess of 300 looked likely from the early overs. Seamer Tendai Chatara returned the best figures, claiming a wicket at either end of the innings, while also going at only 5.44 per over. Sean Williams, Graeme Cremer and Solomon Mire all claimed a wicket a piece.
Mendis' innings was fluent from the outset. He slapped Chatara in front of point, and then wide of mid-on, for successive fours in the ninth over as he claimed a steady string of fuss-free runs into the outfield while the ball was still new and the pitch afforded the quicks a little movement.
Soon, though, the surface flattened out completely, and Mendis began to make batting seem effortless. A disdainful pull off Mire at the end of the 17th over took him past 1000 ODI runs, making him the joint second-fastest Sri Lankan to the milestone, after Roy Dias (Mendis did it in 28 innings; Dias in 27). Not long after that, he flitted down the pitch and smote the left-arm spin of Williams over midwicket, against the turn. With that shot, Mendis reached his 11th career fifty. Since his debut in June last year, no other player has made more 50-plus scores in ODI cricket - Joe Root tied with Mendis at the top of that table, with 12 such scores.
Gunathilaka had, meanwhile, reached his own half-century the previous over, but his progress had not been as assured as Mendis'. Early in his innings, he flirted with deliveries from Donald Tiripano that left the bat, and in the 16th over, edged a Mire delivery, only for the ball to fall short of the keeper. But in between the strokes of good fortune, which included a top-edged six off Mire, there was some typically elegant strokeplay.
In the sixth over, bowled by Tiripano, Gunathilaka had hit an imperious straight boundary and a commanding pull. Later on, he took Mendis' lead in systematically mining the outfield for singles. With Sri Lanka advancing so smoothly through the middle overs, there was perhaps no reason to venture the reverse sweep off Williams that got him out. Perhaps, that shot was the result of wanting to raise his strike rate, as he was on 60 off 76 balls at the time. Nevertheless, the partnership - worth 117 off 127 balls - had set Sri Lanka on track for a strong total.
In the company of Tharanga, who was immediately comfortable at the crease despite having moved down to No. 4 in the batting order, Mendis began to bat with even more freedom - though that ambition also perhaps bring about his downfall. Having come down the pitch to launch Cremer over the straight boundary, Mendis was beaten in the flight two balls later, and sent a catch off the leading edge that was sharply held by the bowler.
Tharanga continued unflustered, however. He bided his time while Angelo Mathews blasted a 30-ball 43 to enliven the back half of the middle overs, and after Mathews' dismissal, switched to a more aggressive frame of mind. Flitting around the crease in the final overs, he struck 30 runs off the last 18 balls he faced, completing his 33rd career fifty in the process. Between him, Mathews and Asela Gunaratne, who contributed a spry 28 from 26, Sri Lanka managed 78 in the last 10 overs.

West Indies squad For last 3 ODI Kyle Hope, Ambris earn maiden ODI call-ups

Kyle Hope and Sunil Ambris have earned call-ups to West Indies' one-day international squad for the final three ODIs of their ongoing home series against India. The duo came in at the expense of Jonathan Carter and Kesrick Williams in Cricket West Indies' 13-man squad named on Tuesday.

Hope, the 28-year old top-order batsman and brother of incumbent national wicketkeeper Shai, captains Trinidad & Tobago in domestic cricket, while Ambris, a 24-year old wicketkeeper-batsman, plays for Windward Islands. Both players are uncapped at the international level.

Hope opened the batting for West Indies A on the one-day leg of their tour of Sri Lanka last year, and turned in good performances with a century and an 81 in three matches. He was also one of the stars of T&T's campaign in the WICB Professional Cricket League Regional 4 Day Tournament (PCL) in 2016-17, finishing second only to Yannic Cariah on the tournament run charts.

Ambris was the seventh-best run-scorer in that tournament with 608 runs at 43.42. That included a double-century against Leeward Islands, when he cracked a 256-ball 231, with the help of 27 fours and five sixes, to set up Windward Islands' seven-wicket win.

"Sunil Ambris and Kyle Hope are two very promising young batsmen who have been selected on the basis of strong performances in our competitions," Courtney Browne, Cricket West Indies' chairman of selectors, said. "Kyle opened on our last A team one-day tour to Sri Lanka and had some very good performances. In addition, he also had a good showing opening the batting for the Trinidad & Tobago Red Force franchise in this year's PCL competition.

"Sunil did well in our Regional Super50 One-Day tournament and also had a good showing in this year's PCL first-class tournament for Windward Islands Volcanoes, and therefore will fit within our middle order. They will be up against a good Indian team and they have an opportunity to show their skills and contribute to a stronger team performance."

The third ODI takes place on Friday in Antigua, which will also host the fourth game, before the teams head to Kingston for the fifth and final match and a one-off T20 International. India lead the one-day series 1-0, having picked up a 105-run win in Port of Spain after the first match ended in a washout.

New Zealand vs South Africa Live cricket score, ICC Women’s World Cup 2017

South Africa will look for their second win in a row when they face New Zealand in ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 match at Derby. All eight participating teams will play each other once, with the top four then going on to semi-finals. The final will take place at the Lord’s on July 23. Get live cricket score of New Zealand vs South Africa ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 game here

Suzie Bates, who already started the series on a flying note with her second World Cup century, has further reasons to celebrate. Suzie, who began her cricketing career at the age of 18 against India at Lincoln, will become the 8th New Zealand cricketer to complete 100 ODIs. Along with her, Amy Satterthwaite also started off the tournament on bright note with a fifty. However, the youngster Amelia Kerr is slowly building her name and making the opportunity count. She was the one who broke the growing partnership between Chamari Atapattu and Chamari Polgampola in the first match of the tournament. Along with her, Holly Huddleston grabbed the eyeball with her maiden World Cup 5-for. With a strong team in place, the White Ferns will hope to continue the momentum against stiff competitors like South Africa.

The Protea women, on the other hand, had shaky start to the year. They ended up as runners-up against India on two occasions – in the final of World Cup Qualifiers and final of the quadrangular series at home. However, South Africa would want to avoid another last-minute thriller as seen against Pakistan. Their power-packed openers like Lizelle Lee and Laura Wolvaardt along with all-rounder Shabnim Ismil as well Ayabonga Khaka and Moseline Daniels will look to maintain their consistency against the big three teams – New Zealand, England and West Indies this week.

Squads:

New Zealand Women: Suzie Bates (c), Rachel Priest (wk), Erin Bermingham, Sophie Devine, Maddie Green, Holly Huddleston, Leigh Kasperek, Amelia Kerr, Katey Martin, Thamsyn Newton, Katie Perkins, Anna Peterson, Hannah Rowe, Amy Satterthwaite and Lea Tahuhu

South Africa Women: Dane van Niekerk (c), Trisha Chetty (wk), Moseline Daniels, Marizanne Kapp, Ayabonga Khaka, Masabata Klaas, Shabnim Ismail, Nadine de Klerk, Lizelle Lee, Sune Luus, Raisibe Ntozhake, Mignon du Preez, Andrie Steyn, Chloe Tryon and Laura Wolfvaardt.

India vs England, Live cricket score ICC Women's World Cup 2017

India is expected to face a tough task when they take on hosts England on the opening day of the ICC Women's World Cup cricket tournament on Saturday.
India will bank on the experience of Mithali Raj, the world's second highest-capped batter behind Charlotte Edwards of England with 177 women's ODIs to her name.
The first stage of the tournament will see the eight contenders battle it out in a round-robin format where every team plays each other once.
Mithali has an impressive record at the World Cup with an average of 60.83 and the highest score of 103 not out which she registered against Pakistan at the previous edition in 2013.
The 34-year-old middle-order batter will aim to continue her fine record in the game's showpiece tournament as seven-time semi-finalists India aims to reach the final for the first time.
Appearing in her fifth World Cup, Mithali has a total of 22 outings so far and her experience will prove to be valuable for the Indians.
"Our first target will be to reach the semi-finals, but for that, you need to be able to play good cricket throughout the tournament and have good momentum," Mithali said in a statement.
Harmanpreet, playing her third World Cup, is a toast of world cricket with her swashbuckling style and part-time off-spin. She has the distinction of notching up 107 runs against England in 2013— the highest score by an Indian in a World Cup.
In the bowling department, India will depend mainly on veteran speedster Jhulan Goswami, who is playing her fourth World Cup.
Jhulan, the highest wicket-taker in the world in limited-overs formats, will be ably supported by left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht who is currently ranked at the sixth position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings.
The Indians are in good form, having thrashed Sri Lanka by 109 runs in their warm-up match. They are, however, expected to face a tough challenge from England.
The English have won six matches of the overall nine encounters between the two teams since India debuted in the second edition of the World Cup in 1978.
The Indian girls registered their first win against England in the third encounter between the two sides at the 1982 World Cup in New Zealand.
England has been impressive whenever they have hosted the ICC Women's World Cup, winning the competition on both the previous occasions in 1973 and 1993. They won their third title at the 2009 edition in Sydney.
The hosts, led by skipper Heather Knight, will be hoping that playing at home proves to be lucky once again as they bid for a fourth crown.
"It's going to be a brilliant tournament. The support we have had from the tournament, I think it's going to be the most visible and supported Women's World Cup we've had," Heather said in a statement.

India vs West Indies 2017 Live Cricket Score

Team India is all set to shrug off the disappointment of losing the Champions Trophy final and begin afresh as they gear up to take on West Indies in the first of the five-match ODI series.

Virat Kohli and his team sweat it out in the middle at the Queen's Park Oval ahead of the opening fixture. Kohli had said in the pre-match press conference on Thursday that the team will look to do the basics and play their 'boring' brand of cricket in order to maintain consistency.

The likes of Ajinkya Rahane and Shikhar Dhawan were seen practicing in the nets ahead of the match. Rahane will look to make the most of this opportunity as regular opener Rohit Sharma has been rested for the tour. Kohli made it clear that it will be Rahane who will open in all the five matches alongside Shikhar Dhawan.

India is expected to whitewash the Windies, who have a cumulative squad experience of 213 matches between the 13 players. Skipper Jason Holder is the highest capped player in the side, having played 58 matches.

Squads:

India: Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli(c), Yuvraj Singh, Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni(w), Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ajinkya Rahane, Kuldeep Yadav, Dinesh Karthik

West Indies: Evin Lewis, Kieran Powell, Shai Hope(w), Kesrick Williams, Jason Mohammed, Jonathan Carter, Rovman Powell, Jason Holder(c), Ashley Nurse, Alzarri Joseph, Devendra Bishoo, Roston Chase, Miguel Cummins

England vs South Africa, Live Cricket Score

After their disappointing campaign in the just-concluded ICC Champions Trophy 2017, South Africa face a chance of redemption against England in a three-match T20 International series. The Proteas captain AB de Villiers, who has been scrutinized for his performance with the bat, sees the series against England as an opportunity for the South African side.
After winning the inaugural Champions Trophy in 1998, South Africa are yet to clinch their second ICC one-day title. Despite having top ODI players like Hashim Amla, Kagiso Rabada, Faf du Plessis and De Villiers, South Africa could only manage to register a win against Sri Lanka in their group games.
“It was a tough few days after the Champions Trophy, to go through that phase of reflecting and to hear some of the criticism. It’s never easy but I have always been the kind of guy to see the positive in that and see an opportunity to improve. These three matches give me that opportunity as a player and as a captain for the team,” de Villiers told ahead of the three-match series opener in Southampton.
De Villiers has had a lean run but he insists that he is in good touch and simply was a victim of poor luck. In three matches, the right-handed batsman could only manage 20 runs.
“I don’t feel like I need to prove anyone wrong or prove something to someone. I just want to go play,” he said.
Before coming into the Champions Trophy, South Africa had suffered a 2-1 loss to England in a three-match ODI series.
“I feel like a youngster starting my career again. I am really full of energy and love playing. I just want to score some runs again and captain the team to a few good wins. I feel like I am playing very well. There’s nothing wrong with my form. The results are not showing,” he concluded.

Cricket News India vs Pakistan

Pakistan has won the Champions Trophy cricket final after beating their arch-rivals India by 180 runs at the Oval ground in Britain's capital, London.
Title-holders India, set 339 to win, collapsed after Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir removed the top three batsmen - Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and captain Virat Kohli. They were eventually dismissed for 158, with 19.3 overs to spare.
Al Jazeera’s Lee Wellings, reporting from South London, said that only a few people saw this result coming.
"This is absolutely remarkable. Pakistan fans cannot believe the journey their team has taken," he said.
"Pakistan is celebrating their biggest victory against their archrival."
Amir finished with three for 16 in six overs and Hasan Ali, who kick-started Pakistan's revival in their group win over top-ranked South Africa, ended the match when he had Jasprit Bumrah caught by the gleeful captain and wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed.
Left-arm fast bowler Amir, whose career was almost ended on the other side of London's River Thames by a ban and jail term he received for his part in a spot-fixing scam during a 2010 Test against England at Lord's, finished with three for 16.
He dismissed Rohit Sharma (nought), India captain Virat Kohli (five) and Shikhar Dhawan (21) in a stunning new-ball spell.
Earlier, Pakistan made 338 for four after losing the toss with opener Fakhar Zaman's 114 his maiden one-day international hundred in just his fourth match at this level.
India had thrashed Pakistani side by 124 runs in their tournament opener at Edgbaston on June 4.

Live Cricket Score India vs Pakistan

Mumbai:- India have scored 1098 runs at a per-batsman average of 91.50 in the tournament, which makes them the best batting outfit on display. Now what do you have to say Pratik? Also, three of India's top five batters averages more than 43 against Pakistan. I think Pakistan bowlers are in for some serious stick today.

India are favourites to retain the Champions Trophy on Sunday but they would probably have preferred to face different opponents than arch-rivals Pakistan in what is sure to be a highly-charged final.

The neighbouring countries have moved on from years of political conflicts but emotions will run high as millions of supporters around the world watch the first major cricket final between the teams since the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup.

India Vs Pakistan, Champions Trophy 2017 Final Live Cricket

India's remarkable consistency will be up against Pakistan's legendary volatility when the fierce rivals clash in what is expected to be an exciting finale to the ICC Champions Trophy on Sunday. The often tense political relations between the neighboring nations add color to the bitter yet intense rivalry, which has nowadays been confined only to global events due to the Indian government's refusal to allow bilateral contests. Defending champions India had got the better of the rivals in the league stage of the ongoing tournament. And captain Virat Kohli has already declared that nothing extra is needed to get the same result despite the turnaround by Sarfraz Ahmed's men since then. It is nonetheless a battle of attrition, where one needs to hold the nerve till the very end.

What's the big deal about this final?
The India-Pakistan cricket rivalry is one of the most intense in all of sport. There is a history of conflict between the two countries, and the cricket rivalry, which stems from the political one, has its own eventful past. With cricket being the most popular sport in both nations, when India and Pakistan play each other in important games, the television audience is often close to one billion - 988 million viewers were estimated to have watched their clash in the 2011 World Cup semi-final.

So what, where, and when is it?
India and Pakistan will meet in the final of the Champions Trophy, a major global cricket tournament, on Sunday, June 18. The match is being played at The Oval cricket ground in London and will begin at 10:30 local time (9:30 GMT, 15:00 Indian Standard Time and 15:30 Pakistan Standard Time).

Is this a rare event? This is the first major final between India and Pakistan since 2007, when India beat Pakistan in the World T20 tournament. The hype around this game is also magnified by a paucity of matches between the two teams in the past 10 years, a result of political tensions.

What is the origin of the India-Pakistan cricket rivalry?
Before 1947, the regions now known as India and Pakistan were both part of British India. When British rule in India ended, two separate countries - India and Pakistan - were created principally along religious lines, and many people were killed as millions moved home in an attempt to live in the country where they would be part of the religious majority. Since then, India and Pakistan have fought four official wars and have been involved in other conflicts.

So the cricket rivalry is an extension of the political conflict?
While political tension was certainly the origin of the India-Pakistan cricket rivalry, it has, over the years, forged a history of its own. There have been several periods during which the teams have been evenly matched, leading to hard-fought matches, close series and exciting moments.

What is the attitude of the fans towards each other?
While there are India and Pakistan fans who feel animosity towards the other team, there are many who have tremendous respect for the opposition. This is evidenced by the popularity of several Pakistan cricketers in India, and Indian cricketers in Pakistan. Some might even say that at times cricket has helped people from both countries transcend the political climate, communicate with each other, and appreciate the many cultural similarities they share. Cricket tournaments have sometimes been thought of as part of the attempts by the countries to make peace with each other.

Part of the history of this rivalry are many tales of people treating those coming from across the border for a cricket series with warmth and hospitality, incidents of fans applauding opposition players at stadiums and of players making respectful gestures to their rivals. Recently, for example, when the famous Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi retired, the entire India team signed a T-shirt and sent it to him as a gift
